Gifts for People Who Work From Home

A tidy timber desk with a felt desk mat, headphones on a walnut stand, a coffee on a felt coaster and a card in a wooden holder

Buying for someone who works from home is easier than it looks. They spend hours at the same desk every day. Anything that makes that desk calmer, tidier or more pleasant to sit down at gets used every single day.

Here are gift ideas from the Settl range, grouped by budget, plus the dates you need to know to have them arrive before Christmas.

Under $20

Small pieces that earn their place quickly. Good for a Kris Kringle, a colleague or a stocking.

  • The Note Card Holder, $14. A small wooden holder that keeps one card upright beside the laptop. At 10 by 3 cm it takes almost no room.
  • The Infinity Pencil, $19. A wooden pencil with a metal writing tip that never needs sharpening. A fine 0.5 mm line for notes and lists.
  • The Daily Cards, $19. Fifty heavyweight cards in three tiers: Today, Next and Someday. A simple daily list for the person who still writes the real list on paper.
  • The Felt Coasters, $19. Four felt coasters with an anti slip base. A place for the cup, off the timber.

Under $40

The pieces that change how the desk feels to sit down at.

  • The Felt Desk Mat, $39. 90 by 40 cm of felt that gives the keyboard, mouse and notebook a defined place. Logo free, with an anti slip backing.
  • The Laptop Stand, $39. Two wooden supports that raise the back of a laptop to a gentle typing angle. They pack away, which suits anyone who works from the dining table.

The considered gift, $69

The Headphone Stand, $69. A weighted walnut base and a slim metal frame, 25 cm tall. It holds most over ear and on ear headphones, and the base takes a phone, keys or a pen. It ships free on its own, since every order of $69 or more ships free.

Pairs that work well together

  • The list maker. The Daily Cards and The Note Card Holder, $33 together. One card upright beside the laptop, with today's list on it.
  • The coffee drinker. The Felt Desk Mat and The Felt Coasters, $58 together. Same felt, same backing, made as a set.
  • The full desk. The Headphone Stand and The Felt Desk Mat, $108 together, with free shipping.
